FC One Rocket FC Returns To Nigeria National League

It has been confirmed that relegated Nigeria National League side FC One Rocket has returned to the division, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Akwa Ibom-based club finished 3rd from the bottom of the Southern Conference table in the just concluded NNL season, thereby suffering an automatic relegation to the Nationwide League One.

According to an update, newly promoted Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri has decided to swap positions with FC One Rocket after agreeing on a deal with the club management.

"We can confirm today (Tuesday) that after an agreement by both parties as signed on November 18, 2022, Kun Khalifat FC, Owerri, Imo State have transferred its NNL slot to FC ONE Rockets.

"All conditions for the exchange have been met, and the Nigeria National League board has been duly communicated.

"FC ONE Rockets finished third from bottom in Southern Conference Group B2 last season and were confirmed relegated.

"With the new development, Kun Khalifa will play in the Nationwide League One (NLO) next season, while FC ONE Rockets will feature in the Nigeria National League (NNL)

"General Managers of both sides, Michael Chukwudi Amaefula (Kun Khalifat FC), and Ubong Essien (FC ONE Rockets) have put pen to paper on the joint agreement sent to the NNL", the club statement said.
