FC Porto Coach Explains Limited Game Time For Moffi Against Rio Ave

The coach of Portuguese Primeira Liga giants FC Porto, Francesco Farioli, has explained why Nigerian forward Terem Moffi was handed only a few minutes in their league clash against Rio Ave, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Moffi, who joined Porto during the winter transfer window, made his competitive debut for the Dragons on Sunday when they faced Rio Ave.
Speaking after the encounter, Farioli revealed that the decision to introduce the Nigerian late in the game was deliberate, as he aims to gradually reintegrate the striker into full match fitness.
“We had already done it once or twice, in this game it was for a few minutes and then I put Terem [Moffi] to close the game,” Farioli said.
“He did ten minutes, but with good impact, but I also wanted to protect him a little bit because on Monday morning we will have a friendly game, in which he can have 60 minutes.
“I want him to be ready, we need to get him back so that, as soon as possible, he has more minutes,” he added.
The Italian tactician’s comments suggest that Moffi is being carefully managed as he builds up his fitness level, with the club keen to ensure he is fully ready to contribute consistently in the Primeira Liga campaign.
