FC Porto Names Zaidu Sanusi In Squad For Club World Cup
Sampson Adedeji
Nigerian international Zaidu Sanusi has been selected as part of FC Porto’s squad for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Sanusi endured a difficult season with limited appearances after suffering a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for nearly eight months.
Despite his struggles, the 27-year-old defender remains on Porto's roster for the prestigious tournament.
With speculation linking him to a potential summer exit in search of regular playing time, the Club World Cup—set to take place in the United States—offers Sanusi an opportunity to showcase his talents to potential suitors.
The left-back, who still has two years remaining on his contract, will be part of Porto’s campaign as they face Inter Miami, Brazil’s Palmeiras, and Egypt’s Al Ahly in the group stage.
