FCT Deputy Director of Sports Inducted Into University of Ibadan Wall Of Fame

Iyiola Ogundele, Deputy Director of Sports in the Federal Capital Territory, has been inducted into the Ex-University of Ibadan Footballers Association Wall of Fame.

Ogundele was a member of the 1990 University of Ibadan football team that won the soccer gold medal at the NUGA games in University of Calabar, the only soccer gold medal the university has ever won.

The Ex-Footballers Association honored Ogundele and his teammates at their Annual Reunion Ceremony held recently at the University.

A skilled goalkeeper, Ogundele also represented Nigeria at the World University Games in Sheffield, England (1991), playing up to the quarterfinals. His impressive football career includes stints with various clubs, including Nitel Ilorin, ISO Glass FC Ibadan, and NEPA FC Lagos, Doyin Babes Ilorin, and NEPA Umuahia.

Ogundele joined the Federal Capital Territory Authority as a Sports Officer in 1997 and has since risen to become Deputy Director of Sports.
