FCT FA Ethics And Disciplinary Committee Built On Illegality - Human Right Activist

Abuja based lawyer and human right activist, Justice Temitope, has stated that the FCT Football Association Ethics And Disciplinary Committee lacks legal backing, hence, built on illegality whose decision cannot stand, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This is contained in a press statement made available to www.bsnsports.com.ng which reads in parts; "In less than 48 hours after the FCT FA bye-election, the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee Invited the coaches of Like-mind FC and also the committee was inaugurated without FCT FA Board approval or ratification, the formation of the Committee was wrongly constituted because it is against the article 42:1 of the NFF statute (2010 as amended) which clearly stated that the Chairman and one of executives must be members of the Committee.

So, bringing a non-board member to head the Disciplinary Committee is an aberration to the the NFF statute and rendered such committee illegal."

He added, "the issue of the legality of the committee has bee raised by the members of the FCT FA Board and have forwarded their petition to the NFF and we have confidence in the objectivity that will be displayed by the NFF. It's well established legal petition that the Chairman of the FA does not have the executive power or unilaterally run FCT FA Board affairs." He concluded.
