FCT FA Mourns Ilerika's Wife As Football Activities Resume Tuesday

The football governing body in Federal Capital Territory (FCT FA) has lifted ban on all football activities in Abuja.

Sakirat Adedoyin Usman, the late lovely wife of the Secretary General of the Association, Haruna Usman (Ilerika) died on Thursday, 13th October, 2022 after brief illness and was buried same day according to Islamic rite.

The FA announced that football activities which was suspended last Thursday as respect for the late owner of Abees Academy resume tomorrow (Tuesday).

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of FCT FA Media Committee, Andrew Aba and Niyi Busari, which reads, "the news of the passing away of your darling wife is an absolutely difficult pill to swallow. She was a great woman, a wonderful wife and a caring mother. The entire football family in the FCT and beyond are deeply saddened by this loss.

"We convey our heart-felt condolences to you and your family at this very difficult moment and pray that God give the family the fortitufe to bear the irrplaceable loss.

"Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you through this period as we ask the Almighty God to grant you the strength to endure this huge loss.

"We wish to also announce that football activities resume in Abuja tomorrow."
