Ahead of the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying round, foreign-based players have started showing an interest to represent D'Tigers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria's senior Basketball team D'Tigers are regarded as one of the top favourites to secure a qualification ticket for the qualifiers.

Phoenix Sun Star Chimezie Metu has become the first player to indicate interest in playing for Nigeria in the qualifying round.

"This is one of the most important windows in the history of basketball in Nigeria, I'll be there ready to go", he said.

D'Tigers have a competition to forget last weekend as they crashed out of the FIBA Afrocan qualifier which was held in Ivory Coast but was picked to participate in the FIBA Afrocan championship via Wild card by FIBA Africa.
