FIBA World Cup Qualifiers: D'Tigers Ranked 12th in Latest African Power Rankings

Ahead of the third window of the FIBA Africa World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria's D'Tigers have been placed 12th in the latest FIBA African Power Rankings, raising concerns over the team's chances of advancing to the next stage, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The ranking reflects Nigeria's disappointing performance during the opening window of the qualifiers, where the D'Tigers managed just one win from three games to sit on a 1-2 record.

In a bid to revive the team's fortunes, the Nigeria Basketball Federation appointed former NBA head coach and two-time NBA champion David Fizdale to lead the technical crew.

The appointment is expected to provide the much-needed boost as the team prepares for the decisive fixtures.

However, with only a week remaining before the next round of qualifiers tips off, there has been little communication regarding the team's preparations, leaving fans uncertain about the squad's readiness.

Despite the setback, Nigeria still has a realistic opportunity to qualify for the next round, with one or two victories in the upcoming three matches likely to strengthen their chances of progression.

The D'Tigers will now be aiming to improve on their early performances and keep their FIBA World Cup qualification hopes alive.
