The top official of the DR Congo champions, TP Mazembe Lamine N'diaye, has opened up on the reason Nigerian goalkeeper Suleiman Shuaibu was turned into a striker for the club, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

It was revealed a few days ago that Shuaibu a second-choice goalkeeper for the former African champions will now be playing as an outfield player.

Mazembe is presently serving a FIFA ban and they were unable to sign new players following the departure of Fily Traore.

"He wants to help the team during this difficult period we are going through".

"In training, he scores goals. It takes time to adapt, but he will be able to do good things.”

Shaibu came on in the 65th minute to replace John Bakata during TP Mazembe’s game against Don Bosco on Friday.
