The updates coming from the Vicarage Road, the home of Watford indicates that the club has been placed under transfer ban over Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Samuel Kalu, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Kalu joined the Hornets in 2020 from the French Ligue One side Girondin Bordeaux but consistent injury has affected his form with the club.

Megamu Football Academy in Nigeria claimed to have been responsible for the development of the player but they are yet to receive a percentage from his sale.

“In this regard, we wish to inform the parties that a ban from registering new players internationally has been implemented by FIFA as of 19 July 2023.

“Moreover, and by the aforementioned decision, the Football Association (in copy) is requested to immediately implement on the respondent the club Watford FC, if not done yet, a ban from registering new players at the national level", a letter to the club stated.

The letter is signed by Julien Deux, head of judicial bodies (ajudicatory).
