FIFA Opens Investigation Into Football Federation Account Dispute

 Sampson Adedeji

The world football governing body, FIFA, has opened an inquiry into developments surrounding the Federation of Kenya Football after the provisional suspension of its President, Hussein Mohamed, alongside two other senior officials.

The investigation follows internal disciplinary actions within the football body, which have raised questions over governance procedures and financial accountability.

FIFA is reportedly seeking clarification on the circumstances that led to the suspension and whether due process was followed in line with its statutes on member association governance.

The Federation of Kenya Football, which oversees football administration in the country, is now expected to submit detailed reports and relevant documentation to FIFA as part of the ongoing review.

Hussein Mohamed and the two suspended officials are yet to make public statements regarding the latest development, while stakeholders in Kenyan football continue to monitor the situation closely amid concerns over possible sanctions or administrative intervention.

FIFA’s inquiry is expected to determine whether any regulatory breaches occurred and what further actions, if any, will be taken regarding the leadership crisis within the federation.
