FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles Drop Out Of African Top 5

World soccer governing body has released the latest ranking for September 2023 with Nigeria's Super Eagles dropping out African Top 5, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side walloped Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 in the final group match of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier and the game counted for little.

The football body announced the ranking on Thursday morning and Super Eagles was placed 40th in the World and 6th in Africa.

Morocco has moved two places up to position 13, remaining the leading African nation in the rankings while reigning African champions Senegal dropped two places from position 18 but remains amongst the top 20 in the world as they occupy position 20.

4 Algeria: 34

5 Egypt: 35

6 Nigeria: 40

7 Cameroon: 41

8 Mali: 49

9 Ivory Coast: 50
