Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have fallen in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings, following their inactivity during the most recent international window, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The nine-time African champions have not played since their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Benin Republic, a break that impacted their standing on the global list.
According to the updated rankings released on Thursday, the Super Falcons slipped to 37th in the world with 1607.063 points.
Despite the drop, Nigeria remain Africa’s highest-ranked women’s national team, maintaining their position ahead of South Africa and Ghana, who sit second and third respectively on the continent.
Zambia and Morocco complete Africa’s top five, rounding off a competitive field as teams continue preparation for upcoming qualifiers and international competitions.
