FIFA U-20 World Cup: Flying Eagles Player Ratings vs Dominican Republic
By Gbenga Gboyega
Bsnsports.com.ng rates the Flying Eagles of Nigeria performance after picking up maximum points against fellow Group D opponents - the Dominican Republic, in their opening fixture at the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina.
Ladan Bosso put out a familiar back line with Abel Ogwueche and Benjamin Fredrick as center-back pairings right in front of Chijioke Aniagboso who stood between the goalposts, with Daniel Bameyi on the right, and Solomon Agbalaka on the left, completing the defensive setup.
The midfield was made up of five bodies with Daniel Daga and Tochukwu Nnadi occupying the defensive aspect, while the trio of Jude Sunday on the left, Ibrahim Muhammad on the right, and Samson Lawal in the middle, form the creative hub.
Salim Fago was placed upfront as the sole striker.
Although the Eagles dominated in possessing the ball and attempting the goalpost, head coach Ladan Bosso would be wary of his team conceding first, while needing an own goal to restore parity before the break.
