FIFA U17 Women World Cup: Flamingos Stay 2nd, As Germany Pummel Chile 6-0

The chances of Nigeria's Flamingos reaching the knockout round of the 2022 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup became brighter on Friday evening as their group opponent Germany shot down Chile, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The South American country opened their campaign in this competition with a 3-1 win over New Zealand while Germany defeated Nigeria 2-1.

The Chilean found the European champions hard nut to crack as they fell 6-0 in South Goa and put their hope of qualification into jeopardy.

Earlier in the day, the Flamingos defeated New Zealand 4-0 to go second in the group.

With Germany's victory over Chile, Nigeria will stay in the second position and a draw will take them into the quarter-final of the competition.
