FIFA U17 Women's Word Cup: Ajakaiye Dedicated Award To God, Flamingos

Nigeria's Flamingos attacker Opeyemi Ajakaiye has dedicated her award to God, teammates and technical crew for their efforts, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigeria side returned to winning ways on Friday with a 4-0 victory over New Zealand.

Despite not scoring, Ajakaiye was voted Woman of the Match in the encounter played in South Goa.

While reacting to the award, she further thanked Nigerians for their tremendous support.

" I dedicate my award to God, my teammates and my coaches for outstanding performance. Our collective effort made a difference today. 

"Thank you to Nigerians back home for their support. Namaste! ", she said.

Nigeria's next match will be against Chile and a draw should take the team to the quarter-final.
