FIFA U17 Women's World Cup: Flamingos Wallop New Zealand 4-0 To Keep Campaign Alive

Nigeria's Flamingos bounced back strongly in the ongoing FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in South Goa, India on Friday afternoon as they walloped New Zealand 4-0, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Flamingos started the tournament on a losing note suffering a 1-2 defeat to Germany.

The Kiwis also lost their opening game 1-3 to Chile and their hope of getting back to winning ways was dashed as early as the first 30 minutes of the game.

It was Amina Bello that opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 16th minute and Miracle Usani doubled the lead in the 35th minute.

Flamingos continued their dominance of the game in the second half, and in the the 75th minute Taiwo Afolabi made it 3-0.

Etim Edidong completed the rout for Nigeria in the 90th minute with a well-taken goal and secure their first win in the tournament.
