FIFA U20: Nigeria Was Better Than Italy -Nunziata

Carmine Nunziata says the defeat his team suffered against Nigeria was a true reflection of their play, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Flying Eagles on Wednesday night improved on their play from their first game to record a massive 2-0 win against Italy 2-0 in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza, Argentina.

Two second-half goals from Salim Fago and Jude Sunday gave the Flying Eagles a second victory and a ticket to the second round with a game to go in Group D.

Recall, Nigeria did come from behind to win 2-1 in their first game against the Dominican Republic.

"It was a difficult match above all on a physical level," the Azzurri coach admitted after the game.

"Nigeria was better than us. We hit the bar and we could have exploited the spaces better. Instead, we made a lot of mistakes on a technical level and it is normal to get into trouble as time goes on. 

"Now we have to regain our strength, play a great game against the Dominican Republic and get to the next round."
