FIFA U20 World Cup: Brazil To Unleash Arsenal's Marquinhos On Flying Eagles

Brazil has included Arsenal's Marquinhos in the 21-man squad that will face Flying Eagles of Nigeria, Italy and Dominican Republic at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina.


Marquinhos was congratulated by Arsenal for his inclusion in the squad that will face Nigeria in their last group game. The statement reads; "Congratulations to Marquinhos, who has been called up to Brazil's 21-man squad ahead of the Under-20 World Cup.

Our forward will proudly represent Seleção Sub-20 at the upcoming tournament, which gets underway on Saturday, May 20, in Argentina. Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Marquinhos all the best in the tournament."

Marcus Vinicius Oliveira Alencar (born 7 April 2003), better known professionally as Marquinhos, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for EFL Championship club Norwich City and on loan from Premier League club Arsenal. He scored 1 goal in 11 appearances for Norwich City Beit he has not scored. He has only one appearance for Arsenal with 0 goal.

Brazil kick off their campaign against Italy, in Mendoza, on Sunday, May 21, before facing Dominican Republic on Wednesday, May 24, and conclude their Group D fixtures against Nigeria on Saturday, May 27.
