FIFA U20 World Cup: How Four Foreign Based Players Make Flying Eagles Final List - Bosso

Ladan Bosso, head coach of Flying Eagles has revealed exclusively to www.bsnsports.com.ng that only four foreign based players made the final list that will be submitted for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup. 

The WAFU B U20 winning coach added that the just is only waiting for the approval of Nigeria Football Federation Technical Department before it would be sent to FIFA on or before 10th May, 2023. 

Speaking further on the list, Bosso said the four players made it into the team because they met up with criteria with which to be selected after the coaching crew and the technical department of the NFF underwent rigorous research on more than 12 players.

"Only four players made the final list that will be submitted to FIFA on or before 10th May, 2023, Bosso revealed to BSN Sports on Wednesday evening after their 3-0 thrashing of Olympic Hybrid Academy.

"The list has been submitted but we cannot do it alone, hence waiting for the final approval of the NFF." He added.

"Myself and the technical crew have done our research, and downloaded the details of the appearances of the foreign based players invited, in their last ten matches.

"So if you are not a regular player in your team, you cannot be here. All we're trying to do is to avoid the mistakes of the U-23, inviting players without knowing their form. So we have to take our correction from there.I think all things been equal, we're on the right path." He said.

"Another factor is that the four players are ready to join us in Nigeria to further ascertain their level of fitness."

Bosso also spoke on plans to engage Nigeria Professional Football League clubs in friendly matches ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina. 

"Yeah, we plan to play Lobi Stars and Nasarawa United, but at the moment they have matches over the weekend.

"The good thing is we would be leaving for Argentina 11 to 12 days before the kickoff, so we can arrange for solid friendly matches against unknown opponents. 

The two times World Cup finalists are in group B with Dominican Republic, Italy and Brazil.
