Morocco’s U20 national team have made history by reaching the FIFA U20 World Cup final for the first time ever, following a tense 5-4 penalty shootout victory over France on Tuesday evening, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The thrilling encounter ended 1-1 after 120 minutes of intense football. Yassir Zabiri put Morocco ahead in the 32nd minute from the penalty spot after a VAR review, while Lucas Michel drew France level in the 59th minute.
Despite several chances on both sides, neither team could find a winner in extra time, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. Morocco held their nerve, with Zabiri converting the decisive spot kick to send the Atlas Lions into the final.
The North Africans will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Argentina and Colombia in what promises to be a memorable title clash.
