FIFA Unveils Official World Cup Poster Without Nigerian Stars

World football governing body FIFA has intensified preparations for the 2026 summer tournament by unveiling the official poster for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The competition, which will be jointly hosted by United States, Mexico, and Canada, is scheduled to be the first edition featuring 48 teams, marking a significant expansion from the traditional 32-nation format.

However, the newly released poster did not feature any players from Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, following their failure to qualify for the global showpiece.

Nigeria missed out on securing a ticket to the Mundial despite having opportunities in the qualification series, a setback that has continued to generate reactions among fans and stakeholders in the country’s football community.

With the unveiling of the official artwork, preparations for the tournament have entered a new phase as participating nations intensify their build-up toward what is expected to be one of the most commercially and competitively significant editions in World Cup history.
