FUS Rabat, Club Africain Secure Opening Wins As Maktown Flyers Set For BAL 2026 Debut

The 2026 Sahara Conference of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) got off to an exciting start, with FUS Rabat and Club Africain recording victories on Day One, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
FUS Rabat delivered a dominant performance to overpower JCA Kings of Côte d’Ivoire 85-55, setting the tone early in the competition with a commanding display on both ends of the court.
In the second fixture, Club Africain were pushed to the limit but managed to edge past ASC Ville de Dakar 85-79 in a closely contested encounter.
Attention now shifts to Saturday, when Nigeria’s Maktown Flyers will begin their campaign against a yet-to-be-specified opponent from Côte d’Ivoire.
The fixture marks a crucial opening test for the Nigerian side as they aim to make a strong impression in the Sahara Conference.
The BAL Sahara Conference continues with more fixtures expected to shape the early standings in the race for playoff qualification.
