Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, continued their preparations for their upcoming encounter against Senegal with a 2–1 victory over Nigeria Women Premier League side FC Robo in a friendly match played in Ibadan, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Falconets arrived in Ibadan on Monday, January 27, 2026, as part of their build-up to the first-leg fixture against Senegal, scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Lekan Salami Stadium. The friendly encounter formed part of the technical crew’s evaluation programme, designed to assess the team’s tactical organisation, match fitness, and overall performance ahead of the crucial qualifier.

Speaking after the match, head coach Moses Aduku expressed satisfaction with the team’s display, while acknowledging the need for further refinement before the Senegal clash.

“So far, so good. We won the game, but there are still little adjustments to be made in the team ahead of Saturday’s game against the Senegalese,” Aduku said.

The coach highlighted the team’s fighting spirit as a key positive, particularly their response in securing the winning goal.

“There were positives, especially the fighting spirit. The way the girls responded to score the winning goal was very encouraging. It showed character, resilience, and the determination not to relent in our quest to qualify,” he added.

The Falconets will continue their training camp in Ibadan in the days leading up to the decisive first-leg encounter, as they aim to secure a positive result against Senegal.
