Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, will face Senegal in the final qualifying round for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, following their emphatic 5-0 aggregate victory over Rwanda, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Falconets sealed their place in the last round after a dominant 4-0 win in the second leg played in Ibadan on Saturday. This came after a narrow 1-0 away win in Kigali the previous week.

Senegal progressed to this stage after eliminating Algeria with a 2-0 aggregate scoreline. The Senegalese side secured the victory at home on September 20, before holding Algeria to a goalless draw away.

Nigeria and Senegal will now battle for one of Africa’s coveted spots at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Poland from September 5 to 27, 2026. The two-legged final qualifying round is scheduled to take place between February 6 and 26, 2026. The winner of the tie will advance to the global tournament, where 24 teams from six confederations will compete for the title.

Nigeria, a powerhouse in African women’s football, will aim to continue their impressive record in the U-20 category, while Senegal seeks to secure a historic qualification to the world stage.
