Fan Who Attacked Plateau United Player Ends Up In Police Net

An unidentified fan who Attacked Plateau United player, Vincent Temitope has been arrested and handed to the police.

This follows reports showing a player of Plateau United named Vincent Temitope where it was alleged that he was attacked by a fan of Nasarawa United FC.

 According to eyewitness, the issue began when the said player, Vincent Temitope, was involved in an altercation with one of those spectators shortly after the game between Nasarawa United versus Plateau United on Match-day 33 at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday evening which ended 3-2 in favour of the hosts.

The altercation led to a physical fight leading to the spectator inflicting injury on the neck part of Vincent Temitope with his sharp finger nails.

Temitope was alleged to have carried a nearly plastic chair to strike the supposed spectator before the situation turned otherwise.

While in the game, Temitope was involved in a brawl with teammates as to who will take a penalty awarded to his side in the second half, but he was eventually allowed to take the spot kick after the Coaches of Plateau United intervened.

Temitope would go on to lose the spot kick to the anger of his teammates.

The same Vincent Temitope was involved in another brawl with Nasarawa United's defender, Abbey Benson, and when the home side's goalkeeper waded in to make peace, he was headbutted by the same Temitope.

Temitope was lucky to escape being sent off as the centre referee, Rashidat Abdulganiyu, only dished out a yellow card.

Even though Temitope would later score in the game, he probably could have taken the frustration of losing the game to Nasarawa United personally, venting his anger on anyone that crossed his path.

Before Temitope was taken to a nearby medical centre and his minor injury dressed up accordingly, and now reunited with his team, the suspected spectator who is neither a supporter nor fan of Nasarawa United was immediately arrested by the Police through the intervention of the State Football Association and taken into custody.
