Fatima Oloko Targets Double With Rivers Angels

Rivers Angels goalkeeper Fatima Oloko has expressed her team's goal of winning a double in the upcoming season, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

In an interview with Mr. Stereo on his sports show, Sport Gallery, on Crowther 88.5 FM Oyo, Oloko confirmed their target last season was to secure a double.

Still, they only managed to win the President Federation Cup, which marked her first trophy with Rivers Angels.

 "We gave it our all in the Super 8, but it wasn't enough to win the trophy. However, we are happy to have won the President Federation Cup.

"It was challenging when we conceded two goals in the first half, but at half-time, I encouraged my teammates to have faith.

 "I wasn't in goal that day, but I believed that we would win the cup, and ultimately, we did. All glory be to God, the management, and our fans for their support and prayers."

Ahead next season, Oloko stated: "We are fully preparing for the next season because we aim to win a double and also participate in the CAF competition."

She also clarified transfer rumours surrounding her, "As we speak, I am still a goalkeeper for Rivers Angels, and I am not discussing anything beyond that."

Oloko took the opportunity to encourage young girls aspiring to be footballers to believe in themselves, stay determined, focused, and have faith in God.

"I have many girls come up to me for advice, and I always tell them to keep believing in themselves. One day, their dreams will come true."

Furthermore, Oloko expressed her hopes of being called up to the national women's team, the Super Falcons, God willing. She sends her best wishes to the team participating in the ongoing WAFCON 2024 and prays that they return home with the trophy, as they are capable of winning their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.
