The Federal Government of Nigeria has fulfilled its promise to the country’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, by presenting them with official documents awarding them houses and national honors, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The presentation took place in Lyon, France, and was conducted by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, alongside the NSC Director-General, Hon. Bukola Olopade.

The gesture comes in recognition of D’Tigress’ outstanding performance and contribution to Nigerian sports, particularly following their recent participation in international tournaments.

The awards include residential properties and official national honors, marking a historic acknowledgment of the team’s achievements.

Mallam Dikko expressed pride in the team’s dedication and success, emphasizing that the Federal Government remains committed to supporting athletes who excel on the global stage.

Hon. Olopade noted that the presentation in France highlights Nigeria’s appreciation for its sports ambassadors, even when competing far from home, reinforcing the nation’s pledge to reward excellence in sports.

D’Tigress players received the documents with joy and gratitude, celebrating both the recognition and the tangible rewards for their dedication to basketball and national pride.
