Federation Cup: 3SC Go Past Adamimogo In 7-Goal Thriller
By Gbenga Gboyega
Shooting Stars Sports Club took a huge step forward from the Round of 64 in the 2023 Federation Cup following a keenly contested 4-3 victory over Adamimogo in Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Adamimogo opened the scoring as early in the 13th minute of the game, pilling pressure on the Ibadan-based side, considering the games are all in knockout format.
Ajani Ibrahim then restored parity moments later to change the game's dynamics, before a minute brace in the 25th and 26th minutes by Ayanrinde, took the scoreline to 3-1 in favor of Shooting Stars.
Damola's 45th-minute strike ensured the game was out of reach for Adamimogo, who tried to pull a comeback via two goals in the 74th and 90th-minutes by Omojola and Jeremiah respectively, but the blast of the final whistle converted the 4-3 scoreline into a result.
The Federation Cup kick-started on Wednesday, showcasing 32 games in over 10 centers across Nigeria, with other incoming results showing Nasarawa defeating Kebbi United to progress, while Lobi needed the luck of penalty shootout to knockout FC One Rocket.
