Werder Bremen full-back Felix Agu has expressed his desire to earn more call-ups to the Nigerian national team following his debut appearance, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Agu made his debut for the Super Eagles in the Unity Cup final against Jamaica on Saturday, playing 83 minutes in a thrilling contest that ended 2-2 before Nigeria triumphed 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
Speaking to WERDER.DE after the tournament, which was held at Brentford Community Stadium, Agu reflected on his experience: "It was a good week overall. I received a warm welcome from the team, and I’m looking forward to more chances in the future."
He also emphasized the significance of representing his country:
"It was fantastic. Even though it was just a friendly tournament, you could feel the intensity of the rivalry. Playing for your national team is a completely different feeling compared to club football, so I’m proud to have made my debut—and even happier that we won."
Agu will now return to club duties, hoping his performance on international duty earns him more opportunities with the Super Eagles.
