Finidi George Rues Officiating After Enyimba Draw With Insurance

Head coach of Enyimba FC Finidi George, has rued the officiating and decision-making in his team's draw against Bendel Insurance on Wednesday afternoon BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Enyimba could only settle for a draw, thanks to Sadiq Abubakar's goal in the 23rd minute of the first half, which was later canceled out by Divine Nwachukwu of Bendel Insurance 13 minutes later.

Finidi was livid by the constant break in play by the center referee for questionable calls on fouls that went against his team in important aspects of the game, as he was caught animated on the touchline during the game.

While speaking to reporters during the post-match, Finidi alluded to the fact that the game was below his expectations.

"Too many things happening in football, which I cannot spell out here. I thought we were bigger than this. And a live match shouldn't be this way.

"I didn't expect to protest for every decision, the game is supposed to be topnotch, but we will keep moving."

In the spirit of sportsmanship, Finidi also added that his team will keep focusing on the positives while preparing for the next game.

"Football being what it is, we have to accept the result, and look forward to positives in the next game."

Enyimba maintains the top spot in the playoff series after 3 games played with 5 points and has 6 points to play for when they face Sunshine Stars and Rivers United in their subsequent fixtures.
