Flamingos enjoyed a light recovery session on Sunday following their emphatic 4–0 victory over Samoa, a result that secured their passage to the Round of 16 at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, BSNAports.com.ng reports.
The team took part in a swimming recovery exercise in the morning, which lasted for about an hour, helping the players unwind and recharge after their dominant display in the final group-stage fixture.
Team Bonding and Tactical Review
After the pool session, the players and coaching crew engaged in a team bonding and game session, where they reflected on their performance against Samoa and discussed key areas for improvement.
Head coach Bankole Olowookere and his technical team also began tactical reviews and video analysis of their next opponents, Italy, as preparations intensify for Tuesday’s knockout match.
Eyes on Quarter-Final Spot
The Flamingos will face Italy in a highly anticipated Round of 16 showdown on Tuesday, October 28, as they look to book a spot in the quarter-finals and continue their impressive run at the tournament.
Nigeria finished third in their group behind China and France and will be aiming to replicate the form that saw them reach the semi-finals in the 2022 edition of the competition.
