Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have rescheduled their planned friendly match against Nazareth Queens to Monday, April 27, following unforeseen circumstances, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Despite the adjustment, preparations remain firmly on track as the team intensifies build-up toward their crucial qualifier against Guinea in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The squad, under the guidance of Akeem Busari, has continued to show encouraging form in recent outings.
In their previous warm-up match on Saturday, the Flamingos delivered a commanding 6–0 victory over Generation Next in Abuja. The match, played as a 60-minute fixture, showcased the team’s attacking strength and tactical sharpness.
Shavih Istifanus opened the scoring in the first minute, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Tobiloba Sarafa added a brace with goals in the 10th and 23rd minutes, while Harmony Chidi extended the lead in the 28th minute.
Further goals from Aminat Adebisi just before halftime and Precious Paul early in the second half sealed the emphatic win. The Flamingos led 4–0 at the break before the match was eventually halted in the 54th minute due to heavy rainfall.
Attention now shifts to the rescheduled friendly against Nazareth Queens, as the team continues fine-tuning preparations ahead of their World Cup qualifying fixture against Guinea.
