Flamingos To Arrive Nigeria On Sunday After Five-Star Display in Abidjan

Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, are expected to return to the country on Sunday following their impressive 5-0 victory over Guinea in the first leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The team is scheduled to depart Abidjan on Sunday aboard ASKY Airlines, with a stopover in Lomé, Togo, before arriving in Lagos at approximately 5:15 p.m. Nigerian time.
Following their arrival, Head Coach Hakeem Busari and his players are expected to return to their training base in Ikenne to begin preparations for the decisive second leg encounter against Guinea.
The Flamingos produced a dominant display in Saturday’s first-leg tie, thrashing Guinea 5-0 to take a significant advantage into the return fixture.
The second leg of the qualifier will take place in Nigeria on May 31, with the aggregate winner securing a place in the next stage of the qualification campaign for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
