Flying Eagles Coach Explains Purpose Of Ivorian Friendly

Nigeria's Flying Eagles coach, Aliyu Zubairu, has shared the reasons behind the international friendly against Côte d'Ivoire's Junior Elephants, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Flying Eagles secured a solid 2-0 victory, but Zubairu emphasized that the match was about more than just the result.

 "My reaction to this game isn't the most important thing at this stage because we are still in the building process," he said.

"We arranged this friendly to assess the level of the players who were part of the WAFU B tournament and to evaluate the new players looking to join the team."

"If any of the WAFU players fail to meet our standards, they will be replaced. Likewise, the new players must prove they belong at this level."

"We will continue making adjustments until we achieve a well-balanced squad for the U20 team," he concluded.
