Nigeria's U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, continued their preparations for the WAFU B U-20 Championship with a 2-1 victory over Ivorian Ligue 2 side Athlétique Club de Zuénoula in a closed-door friendly at the INPHB Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Gift Subi handed the Flying Eagles the lead before substitute Muiz Adeleke added the second goal to seal the win for the seven-time African champions.

The friendly formed part of the team's build-up to the regional tournament as head coach Aliyu Zubairu continues to fine-tune his squad ahead of the competition.

Nigeria will begin their WAFU B U-20 Championship campaign against rivals Ghana in their opening Group B fixture, with the Flying Eagles aiming for a strong start in the tournament.
