Nigeria's U20 national team, the Flying Eagles, have arrived in Cairo in preparation for their third-place showdown against tournament hosts Egypt at the 2025 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, BSN Sports.com.ng reports.

The team touched down in the Egyptian capital at approximately 5:00 p.m. local time on Friday and checked into the Guard Hotel, where they will rest before resuming training on Saturday.

The Flying Eagles are looking to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 defeat to South Africa's Amajita in the semifinals, a match held at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia. Similarly, Egypt suffered a 1-0 loss to Morocco in the other semifinal, setting the stage for a battle between the two disappointed semifinalists.

Nigeria, seven-time champions of the U20 continental competition, will aim to end their campaign on a positive note when they face Egypt in the third-place match scheduled for Sunday.
