Flying Eagles Train Ahead CAR, Congo Friendly Matches

Nigeria U20 Team few hours after they arrived in Casablanca, Morocco on Friday had their first and second training sessions at 6pm on Friday evening and 9am Saturday morning at the Complexe Sportif, Sidi Mohammed, Ain Sebaa, Casablanca, BSN sports.com.ng reports.

The seven times African champions will trade tackles with Central African Republic (CAR) on Sunday (tomorrow) and Congo on Wednesday in international friendly games. Both teams are have also qualified for the CAF U20 AFCON.

The team according to one of the official will also face Benin Republic and Sudan before leaving for Egypt, venue of the biennial age-grade international competition. 

The competition will kick-off on 19 February 2023 with the opening match between hosts Egypt and Southern African side, Mozambique at Cairo International Stadium at 16h00 local time (14h00 GMT). Three stadiums will host the competition that will run until 11 March 2023.

The tournament will also double as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Indonesia. The top four teams will qualify for the World Cup.

Ghana were the defending champions, having won their 4th title in 2021, but will not defend the title after failing to qualify for the tournament.

FIFA World Cup two times finalists, Nigeria will start their campaign against Senegal in the night of 19th February, 2023 before taking on hosts, Egypt on 22nd.

The Ladan Bosso led team will play their final group match against Mozambique on 25th February.
