Football Federation President In Intensive Care Unit After Court Conviction

Wadie Jary, the ex-president of the Tunisian Football Federation, has been admitted to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Tunis after embarking on a week-long hunger strike to protest his conviction, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

According to reports from Tunisia, Jary’s health deteriorated after refusing food for several days while challenging the legal ruling against him.

The former football chief was handed a three-year prison sentence over administrative irregularities, a verdict that was recently upheld on appeal. 

However, Jary has continued to contest the decision, insisting that the judicial process was flawed.

He maintains that the case does not involve any financial loss to the state or personal enrichment on his part and has accused authorities of procedural violations in the handling of the matter.

Jary’s legal team is expected to continue pursuing avenues to challenge the ruling while concerns remain over his health following his admission to intensive care.
