Nottingham Forest aims to provide more competition for Super Eagles defended Ola Aina with new defensive additions with the summer signing of a Dutch prodigy, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced.

Ola Aina missed much of last season due to injury, and with Nicolo Savona linked to Atalanta, the club is seeking a new right-sided defender.

Oliver Glasner has already conveyed to Evangelos Marinakis the need for a new right-back this transfer window, indicating increasing activity in this area. Forest’s summer recruitment will be thorough, with reports emerging of a bid for a new right-back.

Dutch outlet FR12 reports that Forest plans to make an opening offer for Givairo Read. The 20-year-old Feyenoord defender has gained attention over the past year after breaking into Eredivisie matches.

Last season, Read showcased his talent playing as a right-back, making 20 appearances, including three in the Europa League, with two goals and three assists.

While Aina is expected to remain the primary right-back under Glasner, Read’s skills might make him well-suited for a wing-back role.
