Forgotten Goalkeeper Eyes Super Eagles Return

Rivers United goalkeeper John Noble is targeting a return to Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Noble, who was part of Nigeria’s squad to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, has been absent from the national team setup in recent years but insists he has not closed the chapter on his international career.

The shot-stopper, currently with Rivers United, made it clear that he remains available and motivated for a recall.

“Many keep asking if I have retired from international football, but I haven’t. I am still part of the team, and I haven’t given up on the chance to represent Nigeria again,” Noble told Flashscore.

“I truly miss wearing the green and white and being part of the camp and tournaments. Those moments are special, and I treasure them deeply.”

The goalkeeper further emphasised that his immediate focus is maintaining peak performance at club level while awaiting another opportunity with the national side.

“I remain hopeful that I will get another call-up to the Super Eagles soon, but right now, my focus is on staying fit and playing regularly with my club Rivers United.

“Every game is a chance to prove myself and earn the attention of the national team selectors. Representing Nigeria is always a huge honour, and it fills me with pride.

“I will keep working hard, because wearing the Super Eagles jersey is a dream I will never let go of.”

Noble’s determination comes at a time when competition for places in the national team remains intense, with selectors closely monitoring domestic and foreign-based players ahead of upcoming international assignments.
