Angolan legend Flavio Amado and Tunisian top manager Mouine Chaabani will be the two draw assistants for the 2021-2022 TotalEnergies Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup knockout stages.
The draw, scheduled for Tuesday, 05 April 2022 in Cairo, will be broadcast on CAF platforms from 15:00 local time (13:00 GMT).
The Angolan Flavio Amado played for some of the biggest clubs in Africa. Three-time winner of the CAF Champions League (2005, 2006, 2008) with Al Ahly SC, Flavio also wrote the great story of Petro Atletico - winning the top division Girabola (2000, 2001) and the national cup of Angola (2000,2002, 2013) among others.
He scored Angola's first ever FIFA World Cup goal on their debut appearance in 2006. As the most capped Angolan player, Flavio scored in 2006, 2008 and 2010 AFCONs a total of seven goals.
The Tunisian Mouine Chaabani shone as a player, before making a name for himself as a coach. The former defender played in the colors of Esperance de Tunis before joining the technical staff between 2016 and 2021. Chaabani won the CAF Champions League twice with EST (2018 and 2019). Since September 2021, he has been the coach of the Egyptian club Al Masry.
The two assistants will be alongside draw conductor Samson Adamu, CAF Director of Competitions.
