Veron Omba Mosengo, the immediate past Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is poised to take over as President of the Football Federation of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FECOPA), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Mosengo’s candidacy has reportedly received the backing of DR Congo President Félix Tshisekedi as well as FIFA President Gianni Infantino, signaling strong support from both national and international football authorities.

The former CAF Secretary General is expected to travel to DR Congo to assume his new role, where he will oversee the development and administration of football across the country.

The appointment marks a significant return to African football governance for Mosengo, who played a key role at CAF before stepping down from his position.
