Former Golden Eaglets Captain Suffer Long Term Injury In Austria

Former Nigeria's Golden Eaglets skipper Samson Tijani has suffered a long-term injury in Red Bull Salzburg pre-season game, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

Tijani has been on a pre-season with the Austria champions and was in action in one of the tune-up games on Saturday against Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord.

He was substituted during the game after he sustained an injury and he was unable to continue the encounter.

The club medics conducted a test on the midfielder and it was discovered that he has sustained a fracture on his fibula and tibia.

"Samson Tijani suffered a fractured fibula and tibia in yesterday's friendly against Feyenoord and will be out for the remainder of the season. 

"We're saddened to hear about the severity of his injury and wish him a speedy recovery. 

"Get well soon, Samson," the club said.
