Former Nigeria's Golden Eaglets Stars midfielder Ibrahim Jabaar has helped his Israeli club Maccabi Petka Tikva to earn a Conference League slot, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Jabaar moved to Tikva in Israel at the beginning of the season from the South Africa Premier League side Stellenbosch after spending three seasons at the club, where he played over 70 matches, scoring three goals and assisting on three occasions.
The former Nigeria youth international has been instrumental for Tikva in their fight for survival as they finished second in the Israel Premier League Relegation round.
The 21-year-old is the champion of the State Cup after a 1-0 win over Hapoel Be’er Sheva. He scored one goal for Tikva in the State Cup and has four assists in the league.
Tikva’s cup triumph also means that they have earned a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, and will be joined by Maccabi Haifa and Beer Sheva, who finished in second and third spots in the Israeli Premier League, respectively.
