Former NBBF Vice President Hails Gara Gombe Over Grassroots Sports Development

The recent maiden editions of inter primary schools athletics championship organized by Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe has been described as a step taken produce national and international athletes in the state.

The former vice chairman of Nigerian Basketball Federation NBBF, Alhaji Muktar Adamu Khali alias Malone stated this in a chat with newsmen in Kano.

Malone who is also the former Zone 3 basketball President said this really grassroots development, adding that with few years, Gombe will dominate athletics events in the country.

He said it be could recalled that old Bendel state adopted similar programmes in the past, which yielded positive results.

"Apart of dominating various sporting events, Bendel athletes scattered all over states across the country," he explained.

Malone said that "" I have following the Gombe inter Primary athletics championship through Facebook, I really enjoyed watching it. And hope people should encourage Gara Gombe in this regard.''

He advised Gara Gombe to ensure those athletes discovering at the championship should be camping for future state, national and international engagements 

While commending Gara Gombe for singled handled sponsoring the championship, he urged the state governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya to support him with a view to achieve the desired objective.

Malone however called on wealthy individuals to emute Gara Gombe in their various state towards the overall development of sporting events in the country.
