Former Nigeria Professional Football League striker Sunday Adetunji has etched his name into the history books after helping Al Hilal Omdurman win the Rwanda Premier League title, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Sudanese giants were crowned champions following a remarkable campaign played away from home due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
Al Hilal dominated the league throughout the season, recording impressive statistics of 30 matches played, 70 points accumulated, 69 goals scored, and only 20 goals conceded.
The triumph also marked a historic milestone for the club, as Al Hilal became the first team in African football history to win top-flight league titles in three different countries Sudan, Mauritania, and Rwanda.
Despite being displaced from their home country, the club continued to show resilience and consistency, adding another major achievement to their growing continental reputation.
Adetunji, who previously starred in the NPFL before moving abroad, played his part in the memorable title-winning campaign that has now become one of the most unique stories in African club football history.
