Former Angola national team coach Pedro Gonçalves has taken the Angolan Football Federation to FIFA over alleged unpaid wages and contractual issues, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Gonçalves, who previously managed the Palancas Negras, is claiming that the federation still owes him several contractual obligations following the end of his tenure with the team.

According to reports, the Portuguese tactician decided to approach FIFA after several attempts to resolve the matter directly with the federation failed.

A source close to the situation revealed that the coach had initially tried to avoid escalating the dispute to football’s world governing body.

“Coach always tried to avoid going to FIFA, but there was no other option due to their failure to comply and their lack of response on how they intended to resolve the situation,” the source said.

The case is now expected to be reviewed by FIFA as both parties await further developments regarding the contractual dispute.
