Former Super Eagles coach José Peseiro is on the verge of becoming the next manager of Kayserispor in Turkey’s Super Lig BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Portuguese coach could soon return to club football, having received an invitation to resume his managerial career.

Sources in Turkey suggest that Peseiro is the leading candidate to take over at Kayserispor, with an offer currently on the table.

While Mark Gisdol is also under consideration for the role, Peseiro appears to be the frontrunner, with discussions ongoing between him and the club’s technical team.

A final decision could be made in the coming hours, pending approval and further details.

Peseiro's most recent coaching stints were with the national teams of Venezuela (2020-2021) and Nigeria (2022-2024), where he led the latter to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 64-year-old coach’s last club experience was with Sporting CP during the 2018/19 season, making this potential move a return to club football after several years.
