Four-Nation Tournament: Experienced Faisal Included As Jordan Release Squad For Nigeria

Baha' Faisal has been recalled to the Jordan national football team after being named in the squad by head coach Jamal Sellami for an upcoming training camp and international friendlies later this month, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The veteran striker, who plays for Al-Waab SC, is among the players selected for the camp that will precede friendly matches against the Nigeria national football team and the Costa Rica national football team.

 The fixtures form part of Jordan’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Al-Waab confirmed Faisal’s call-up on social media on Wednesday, stating that the forward earned his place in the national team after a series of impressive performances across competitions this season.

Faisal’s inclusion offers Sellami an experienced option in attack, particularly after striker Yazan Al-Naimat suffered an injury while representing Jordan during the 2025 Arab Cup. The setback forced the coaching staff to consider alternative attacking options ahead of the upcoming fixtures.

The 30-year-old last appeared for Jordan at the 2021 Arab Cup, where he sustained a serious injury against Morocco national football team that sidelined him for nearly two seasons.

After recovering, Faisal revived his career with Al-Wehdat SC before completing a move to Al-Waab last year, where he now serves as team captain.

Since making his international debut, Faisal has earned 58 caps for Jordan, scoring 18 goals and contributing to 21 victories for the national side.

According to the fixture of the four-nation tournament, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play Iran on the 27th and Jordan on the 31st of March, 2026. Though, Iran has withdrawn from the tournament due to political tension.

As.the Four-Nation Tournament is unlikely to hold, Jordan and the Nigeria Football Federation are working together to stage a single game friendly game in Europe as Jordan are preparing for good outing in their first appearance at the FIFA world cup.
